Welcome to Withington Senior School

Here at Withington’s Senior School, the committed teaching staff are dedicated to enabling every pupil to reach their full potential not just in the classroom, but in all aspects of their life.

The pupils’ results at GCSE and A-Level are exceptional. The curriculum is broad and balanced at all stages and a wide range of optional subjects are offered to suit pupils’ abilities and interests. Pupils take part in an impressively diverse range of activities, including art, music, theatre and an exciting variety of community projects both locally and overseas. All pupils, whatever their ability, are encouraged to enjoy their sport and to find a physical activity which challenges and engages them, and opportunities for competitive participation are provided at House, School, County, Regional and National level.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and wellbeing of all pupils. Heads of Year and Form Tutors monitor the progress and welfare of each pupil, while trained Sixth Form Peer Supporters offer advice and guidance to younger pupils and the School Health Team liaises with outside professionals. In this lively environment, well structured but warm and friendly and featuring the very highest standards of pastoral care, Withington pupils flourish and grow into balanced, happy, confident young people.

Year 7 is our main point of entry to the Senior School. There are occasional places in other year groups and any enquiries should be directed to admissions@wgs.org.
