Sixth Form Volunteers
Withington Girls’ School has a long history of volunteering and engaging with the local community, a programme that was accredited by the Millennium Volunteers Scheme in 2007. Every member of the Sixth Form engages in some form of volunteering, including many students undertaking outreach work in local primary schools where they support younger pupils with their reading, social development and literacy. We are proud to have volunteers working at Old Moat Primary School, Longford Park School, The Birches School, St Paul’s Primary School and St Theresa’s School. In addition to these partnerships, our girls volunteer in a huge range of non-educational settings, including care homes, local hospitals, shops, hospices, community outreach programmes and charitable organisations such as the Seashell Trust and St John’s Ambulance.
