Sixth Form Admissions
Admission to WGS Sixth Form
If you are prepared to take advantage of all the opportunities on offer at Withington, you would have the very best chance of achieving great A-Level results, enabling you to take the next steps to realising your hopes and ambitions for the future.
Our academic results speak for themselves. Withington is one of the top dozen gateways for entry into Britain’s best universities and you would be joining a friendly, vibrant and supportive community while benefiting from excellent teaching and the school’s well-established track record in supporting pupils through their university applications process.
The requirement for girls wishing to enter the Sixth Form from another school is a minimum of six 7-9 grades at GCSE, with 8-9 grades in the subjects you wish to study. Girls and parents are warmly invited to arrange to visit us by contacting our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0161 249 3371.
Application Forms are available here.
On receipt of an Application Form, we write to the prospective student’s current school for references. We then invite prospective Sixth Formers for interview during the latter half of the Spring Term or the start of the Summer Term.
If, on GCSE Results day, the required grades have been attained, pupils are asked to inform us, upon which they will be invited into school to bring in their GCSE results and collect a Welcome pack.
