Charity Fundraising
Raising money for charity continues to be a strong feature of life at Withington. All Forms hold events for a wide variety of charities and the focus, as always, is on having fun whilst raising a great deal of money. More than £23,000 was raised during the last school year through activities ranging from whole school extravaganzas, such as Staff Strictly Come Dancing, to a constant stream of cake sales. Girls who are going on the World Challenge expeditions and to Uganda and The Gambia also continuously work extremely hard to raise money which helps to fund orphanages and projects in the poorer areas of the world.
Some of the charities that we have supported include: Amnesty International, Jeans for Genes, Comic Relief, Cancer and Heart Disease Research, The Wood Street Mission, Francis House, the RSPCA, Vision Aid, Children in Need, Changing Faces, Kimili Mission, Children with Leukaemia, Genesis, HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust, Sightsavers and Oxfam, to name just a few.
