Senior Nurse – School

Full time plus 2 weeks to be worked in school holidays

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified and experienced Senior Nurse to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls.

The role of the Senior Nurse is to manage and lead the provision for the health, safety and well-being of the pupils at Withington Girls’ School, enabling all pupils to continue in school with support for individual physical and mental health care if required.

The Senior Nurse will lead in the risk assessment and coordination of individual support plans and will work collaboratively with the School Pastoral Team, ensuring the care of both pupils and staff.  The Senior Nurse will be part of the Safeguarding team and will act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Salary: £35,547 FTE salary

The advertised hours for this position are 37.5 hours a week (over 5 days Monday to Friday) plus 2 weeks to be worked in the school holidays (to include the week before the Autumn term starts).

Alternative working patterns across the year will be considered and interested applicants are advised to inform of their preference with submitting an application. Part time hours of between 30 – 37.5 hours would also be considered.

Peripatetic Music Teacher – Piano

Required September 2024

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified and inspirational Teacher of Piano to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls.

At Withington, we aim to promote the school’s ethos of love of learning, engagement with our school’s wide breadth of opportunity and commitment to the highest standards in all that we do for the benefit of our pupils in all aspects of their development. Our commitment is to: intellectually stimulating, innovative and supportive teaching which enables each pupil to fulfil her potential and develop the skills, knowledge and approaches needed not only for success in examinations but for life beyond school.

This is a freelance role, the post holder will be self-employed, but will need to liaise with the Head of Music with regards hours required.  The role is available from 1^st September 2024.

The Piano teacher is part of a large team of peripatetic staff offering tuition in a diverse range of instruments including percussion, harp, strings, brass, woodwind and keyboard. Musical tuition is offered to all girls at the school (from age 7-18).

The successful person will also be expected to attend our ‘Manchester Sings’ event, also prepare for and attend an informal recital evening alongside other instrumental staff and when possible, support other musical events at Withington, both concerts and composition workshops/recordings.
