This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Examinations Officer to join our successful School. The main role of the Examinations Officer is to ensure the smooth, successful and cost effective running of all aspects of the examination system at Withington Girls’ School and to provide a reliable results service for the public examinations. To achieve this, the Examinations Officer is expected to be fully competent in all aspects of the administration and efficient running of the examinations system.

Salary: £34,072 FTE salary.
The advertised hours for this position are 31 hours per week (an average over the academic year), term time plus 2, however, full time or alternative working patterns may be considered.

The IT team plays an integral role in the operation of Withington Girls’ School. Members of the team work closely with the Senior Leadership Team; teaching staff; and support staff. The IT Technician will primarily provide first line support to pupils and staff during lessons, to help maintain device-based teaching and learning.

The Admissions and Marketing Department is a busy department, critical to the continuing success of the School. The Department is central to the recruitment of prospective pupils, strengthening our market presence through innovative and creative use of a full range of marketing tools, media and platforms, developing and enhancing the Withington brand and furthering the School’s regional, national and global profile.
The Registrar’s role is to administer the admissions process for entry into WGS across both the Junior School (7-11) and Senior School (11-18) as well as completing the required processes when a pupil leaves the school. The Registrar supports the Director of Admissions & Marketing (DoAM) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in ensuring the school’s recruitment targets are met; handling all aspects of the school’s admissions process warmly, professionally and efficiently with a view to maximising the number of enquiries, visits, registrations and joiners.

Head of Modern Foreign Languages

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified, experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages, to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls.

Our commitment is to: intellectually stimulating, innovative and supportive teaching which enables each pupil to fulfil her potential and develop the skills, knowledge and approaches needed not only for success in examinations but for life beyond school. The School believes strongly in enrichment, diversity and extension and our lessons go beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Modern Foreign Languages at Withington currently comprises French, German and Spanish. Languages at Withington are cherished and valued, with all pupils in Years 7-9 studying two Modern Foreign Languages, and at least one Modern Foreign Language being compulsory at GCSE. Modern Foreign Languages remain a popular choice at A Level.
The Head of Modern Foreign Languages is a full-time role and it is desirable that the candidate would have Spanish as their first subject, with the ability to offer a second language. The Head of Modern Foreign Languages will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the French, German and Spanish Departments.
The post holder will be expected to lead the successful teaching of Modern Foreign Languages across the age and ability range from Junior School up to and including Year 13 and to contribute to the wider life of the school as the Head of Department.
As Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Withington, it is expected that the successful candidate will make it a priority to inspire a love of languages and increase recruitment to GCSE and A-Level courses.
The role of Head of Modern Foreign Languages is available from January 2024, although we could appoint at a later date in the school year if notice periods require this.
