Since this article was first published, Natalie has gone on to take home the award for the Digital Project category in the 2014 Creative Enterprise Awards, held in November. She has also been approached by another WGS Alumna, who saw the news, to work together to gain financial investment. Natalie is now on a mission to crowd-fund £10,000 for her business in 45 days. 2008 Leaver Natalie Grogan, founder of Style Scape, has won multiple awards and secured funding for her fashion & tech startup.

After completing her BA in Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Natalie went on to do an MA in Fashion Media Production at the London College of Fashion. It was during her BA that the Style Scape concept was born. She noticed a gap in the market for a user-led, street style website showing fashion from around the globe.

In April 2014, Natalie stood before a panel of judges and won the full £5,000 worth of SEED business funding to develop Style Scape further. She also won the Creative Enterprise Award in November 2013 for London College of Fashion; the award was given in recognition of outstanding entrepreneurship. Style Scape was also shortlisted in the Digital category. This year, Style Scape has been shortlisted for the Creative Enterprise Award’s Digital and Enterprising Project categories.

Natalie’s personal portfolio also boasts an impressive array of fashion and film projects.

Natalie Grogan Style ScapeNatalie describes Style Scape as an “Instagram-powered, global street style community, developed for a generation permanently connected and live on their devices and constantly searching for new inspiration.” She writes, “we aim to encourage sartorial discovery – it will create an archive of user-led, authentic street style imagery from around the globe. Just #Stylescape on your fashion Instagram images to submit content for the site, and watch your photos appear.”

With the slogan, ‘Style Scape – What’s the world wearing?’, Style Scape has also been pinned “somewhere between Pinterest and a street style blog.” Natalie aims to collaborate quality fashion images together with social media sharing possibilities. Her start-up launched on 15th November 2013 at a gallery in East London, at an impressive event attended by DJs, fashion bloggers, designers and photographers.

We wish Natalie the best in her venture, and hope Style Scape grows from strength to strength. Read more in her interview with UAL, and follow Style Scape on TwitterPinterest, or Instagram (search style_scape) for further updates.
