Music has been high on the agenda this January

We have enjoyed two major events in school this month: the Junior School Musical Recital evening and Let’s Make Music Day. The latter was great fun for all; every girl in the Junior School was involved and exposed to all sorts of different musical activities. Girls participated in instrumental workshops throughout the day – guitar, flute, oboe, bassoon, violin, cello, clarinet, saxophone and percussion. One particularly popular activity was making a reed out of a drinking straw and these could still be heard being blown as the girls left school at the end of the day!

Over 50  girls took part in the Junior School Recital evening on 23rd January, displaying a range of musical talents. Head of Juniors Ms Howard said: “I was most impressed by the poise and confidence of the girls, and the level of their expertise. A delightful evening was had by all.”
