Junior Outdoor Club – RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch
We were very lucky to have a lovely sunny morning for the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch this year. Nearly 20 girls from Year 6 were involved in keeping a tally of the birds we could see down at the end of the field.
We had a much greater variety of birds this year and were really excited to see four goldfinches for the first time this year, as well as a couple of long-tailed tits.
The most delight, though, was seeing a magpie actually eating one of the fat balls we had made in Outdoor Club – proving that it’s not just the squirrels stealing them!
