‘Behind the Scenes’ Reunion at London’s Old Vic Theatre!

Join us for a tour of London’s Old Vic Theatre and lunch on 15th September 2017!

Tour Time: Friday 15th September 2017, 10.30am – 12.00pm (followed by lunch at 12.00pm)

Tickets: £10 for lunch + £5 contribution to WGS Bursary Fund

Our ‘Behind the Scenes’ reunion events are very popular with our Old Girls, with past trips including tours of the BBC, Wimbledon and Fulham Palace. For this year’s tour, we are delighted to announce that Withington Old Girl Joyce Hytner, OBE (Class of 1954) has kindly put us in touch with staff at London’s Old Vic Theatre to arrange a special backstage tour led by Ned Seago, Stage Door Manager. Ned has a very extensive knowledge of the building and the history of the Old Vic, and is an extremely entertaining and enthusiastic host!

After the tour, the Development Team invite you to join us for a light lunch at Penny’s Café, in the basement of the Old Vic, at a subsidised price of £10. The tour itself is complimentary, thanks to kind arrangement by Joyce, but the Development Team would appreciate a minimum donation of £5 towards the Bursary Fund in lieu of this.

The Old Vic is 199 years old this year. The Grade II listed building has a lot of stairs and winding corridors and, unfortunately, limited accessibility provision. The walking-tour will last 1hr 30 mins, and because the Old Vic is still a working theatre, our tour must start and finish on time so that we don’t interrupt rehearsal schedules. Please kindly consider all of these factors before registering for the event.

We would be delighted if you could join us for this exciting event! The tour is limited to 20 places, and tickets will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. If you would like to reserve your ticket and/or need any further information, please contact Development Officer Penny Knipe on 0161 249 3494, or email knipep@wgs.org
