History in action

On 1st May, Third Form pupils set off to the Welsh coast to visit the 13th century castles of Edward I at Conwy and Rhuddlan.

At Conwy, the girls were taken round by expert guides who provided highly knowledgeable tours; this provided the girls with plenty of information on the history and layout of the castle and enabled them to embark on their follow-up work with confidence.

There was no guided tour at Rhuddlan, but the girls were excellent at independently finding out about the castle. It was also a good job that the weather was lovely, as Rhuddlan is a mostly open site!
