The girls made the most of their week in France and discovered some of the local highlights such as the Musée de Cassel with an informative and thought provoking guided tour on modern art after which we visited a local estaminet to enjoy afternoon tea Belgian style. Other excursions included a day in the picturesque Belgian city of Ghent, a morning in Lille and a return visit to the ever popular art gallery La Piscine. Sadly sand-yachting had to be postponed owing to ‘verglas sur des pistes' (black ice on the beach) but the girls coped admirably with the cold weather and enjoyed fun-packed weekend en famille.

The dates have already been set for 2013 : 7th-14th February French leg and 6th-13th March UK leg.
