WiGS for Life 2010

 Towards a future without cancer

The third WiGS4Life event took place on Sunday 17th October 2010.  Blessed with a clear sunny day, Withington girls, staff, mums, aunties and grannies donned a variety of garish mop tops to raise money for The Christie.

Withington's new Headmistress, Mrs Sue Marks, was unable to attend the event this year. On 14th October, Mrs Marks and her PA Mrs Angela Adshead walked the 4k on one of the treadmills in the School's brand new Fitness Suite. It's not too late to sponsor Mrs Marks and you can so so by visiting her Just Giving webpage. (This is an external website and will open in a separate window.)

Since 1994, Race for Life has become Cancer Research’s flagship fundraising event; to date, 3.4 million women have raised over £200 million to continue the fight against cancer in the UK. We add our contribution to this impressive record, by hosting our own WiGS for Life run. Watch this space for pictures of the day and to find out the total amount raised.
