Every summer, as the academic year draws to a close, it is always an emotional time seeing the Upper Sixth students preparing to bid farewell to Withington and reflecting on their experiences and achievements.
At Withington, we have always aimed not only for academic excellence, but to be a caring and creative place where learning is truly valued and where girls are nurtured and empowered.
However, the introduction of VAT on school fees, as well as increasing economic pressure on already squeezed household finances, means that we are seeing that each family needs more financial support. With your help, we can ensure that no pupil faces the devastating prospect of having to disrupt their education and leave our school community.
Our aim is to make a tangible difference to all our pupils but we know that for some students the opportunity to attend Withington is truly life-changing.

At Withingon, our commitment to bursary provision remains undiminished. We are doing everything possible to ensure that our school remains affordable to hard working families so that a Withington education doesn’t become financially out of reach.
It is our ambition to continue to support one in six Senior School pupils but we can only do this with your help. It is not a cliché to say that your support can change lives, enabling young women to make their own Withington memories and milestones. Please help us to ensure that no girl with the potential is denied a place at Withington.
Any support you can give will be matched pound for pound thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor who has agreed to match the first £14,910 given. This will provide the equivalent funds for 2 full bursaries for a year.
Through the power of collective giving, by donating £15 a month over four years, you could be one of 17 donors who fund a 100% bursary and help support and inspire the next generation.
Making your gift before 31st July means that we can confirm what additional support we can provide before the new academic year begins in September.
