Transition to Sixth Form | Withington Girls' School

Joining us in Year 12…

The best thing about Sixth Form is making new friends through common interests and subject choices. I found like-minded people who I hope to stay in touch with for life.

Our smooth transition process begins as soon as we meet you.

You’ll quickly discover the special atmosphere at Withington’s Sixth Form, where we achieve remarkable results together.

Once your GCSEs are over, Year 12 offer holders are invited to a Sixth Form Taster Day where you’ll experience life in our Sixth Form and sample your subject choices.

On GCSE Results Day, you’ll need to contact us as soon as possible on the day to confirm your results – so we can send you an offer pack.

At the start of Year 12, you’ll be invited to an induction afternoon alongside other students joining us for Sixth Form. During this time, you’ll meet with the Director of Sixth Form, your Form Tutor, and begin finding your way around school.

The first day of term is a team-building day for Year 12s with lots of different activities, including our annual Crystal Maze event (featuring the famous dome!).

Of course, we understand that joining a Sixth Form at a new school is a big deal. So we’ll do everything possible to help you feel right at home in no time.
