The LAMDA drama course is taught by Nikki Smythe and Fiona Paul.
Nikki trained for three years at Bristol Old Vic and has worked extensively in theatre, as well as in film, television and radio. Fiona is a professional actor/director who most recently appeared in the BBC’s Holby City.
The course gives the girls the opportunity to increase their confidence, self-esteem and communication skills. Working in small groups the course covers storytelling, mime, improvisation and devising plays. Lessons are timetabled to take place between 8.20am and 3.40pm and will normally involve a rotation of times so that girls do not miss the same timetabled class more than once.
In the February and June the girls sit a graded acting examination and parents get the chance to see ta reprise of the girls’ exam presentations in a LAMDA showcase performance.
