The Library is situated on the first floor of the school overlooking the playing fields. It was completely refurbished in 2003 following a major fire, and provides a comfortable environment for staff and students. During lesson time the Library is used by the Sixth Form for study and by groups from other forms accompanied by a member of staff. The Library is open from 8.30 am until 5 pm each day and is staffed by a Chartered Librarian. It stocks a wide range of books, periodicals and DVDs related to courses taken in school and for wider and leisure reading. An adjacent computer suite provides networked PCs, access to the Internet and CDROMS. There are two networked PCs in the Library itself.
The non-fiction books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal system. The fiction section is divided into Junior and Senior and is arranged alphabetically by author. The Library has a computerised catalogue, which can be searched by author, title or subject.
There is a general reference collection containing encyclopaedias and other works designed to provide information quickly on a variety of topics. A photocopier is also available for pupil use.
