We’ve had a spellbinding season of sport, even if the weather didn’t quite say summer!
From rounders, cricket, athletics to Sports Day and the Swimming Gala, there has been lots to enjoy indeed.
Having won their respective tournaments of the Manchester Schools Rounders Cup, four WGS teams played in the final. Three teams were crowned Manchester Champions with our Year 10 team finishing as runners-up.
Our athletes have had a stellar athletics season with many team and individual achievements.
A terrific end to a great year of sport.
Year 10 won the Manchester Schools Track & Field Championships where they earnt a total of 15 medals
Year 8 & 9 also won the same Championship
Year 8 won the Manchester Schools Athletics League
Year 7 & Year 9 were both second at the Manchester Schools Athletics League
At the Sale Harriers Competition, an impressive team effort resulted in a second place finish overall
At the English Schools North West Finals, the joint Year 7 and 8 team finished third out of 12 schools whilst the joint Year 9 and 10 team finished seventh
