We are thrilled to share that ten Year 13 students at Withington Girls’ School have received offers from the universities of Cambridge and Oxford.
The six offers from Cambridge are for Economics, Law (2), Medicine and Natural Sciences (2), and from Oxford, Ancient and Modern History, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Music (Choral Scholarship).
With the UCAS deadline only just closing on Friday 31st January, students across the year group are already celebrating offers from other top UK universities. Over 80% of the offers received are from Russell Group universities.
This year our students have elected to study courses such as Architecture, Biomedical Sciences, Business Management, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Drama and Film Studies, Economics, Fine Art, History, Japanese Studies, Media and Television Production, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and Physics and Astrophysics. This wide range reflects the varied interests of our Upper Sixth and our commitment to nurturing the talents and ambitions of our students.
Students are also being supported in applications for other routes of study such as degree apprenticeships. One of our Year 13 students is holding offers for vocal studies from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music.
As our Year 11 and Year 13 students approach the public examination season, they are receiving ample support from school staff to ensure they are well-prepared and equipped with the guidance and resources they need to shine.
