Feel Fab Feb 2024

March 1, 2024

For two weeks in February, our school community enjoyed a host of personal development and wellbeing-focused activities. ‘Feel Fab Feb’ provided the opportunity for everyone to engage in an enriching programme of events that featured a highly anticipated WGS v MGS charity netball match, of which Withington were the victors; a visit from Louis the llama and Cracker and Pip the alpacas; the Gym and Dance Display; art and craft making; a whole school foodbank collection; and the Your Future Careers Convention.

Culture Day once more was a vibrant festival of conversation and inspiration. Pupils took part in specially devised lessons. For example, in Chemistry, all students created sparklers and fireworks alongside learning about Chinese New Year traditions and in Drama, pupils considered if actors should be cast based on their personal identity.

Feel Fab Feb encourages pupils to recognise the importance of self-development and learning the skills and strategies for positive mental and physical health, which they can do through the fun and engaging activities. Whilst wellbeing has a higher profile during these two weeks, the wellbeing of all at Withington is very much an everyday focus for us.
