This year, we have marked a special milestone: 10 years since the opening of our dedicated Junior School building. While our Junior School community has been thriving for decades, this anniversary recognises 10 years of learning, growth and creativity within a space designed especially for our youngest pupils to shine.
The purpose-built building has transformed the Junior School experience, offering bright classrooms, specialist facilities and areas that encourage curiosity, collaboration and confidence. Over the past ten years, it has become a vibrant hive of activity, supporting generations of pupils as they begin their Withington journey.
To mark the occasion, a group of current Junior School pupils took on the role of reporters, exploring how the Junior School has shaped those who have gone on to the Senior School and Sixth Form. Through this, they discovered the strong sense of continuity between the Junior School and the wider school community, and the important role those early years play in shaping pupils’ interests and aspirations.

The project has been pupil-led: the girls devised the questions, conducted interviews, and took an active role in filming and sound recording. Their creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm are evident throughout the finished piece. Through thoughtful questions, they uncovered stories about favourite memories, friendships and how early experiences helped shape their journeys.
Over the last decade, the Junior School building has provided far more than just learning spaces. It has been a place where pupils discover new interests, build friendships and lay the foundations for future success. While the building itself is 10 years old, it stands as part of a much longer tradition of nurturing young learners and preparing them for the next stage of their education.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are proud of how the building continues to support and inspire every pupil who walks through its doors.
