Our History, Economics and Politics Society (HEPSoc) very much enjoyed hearing from alumna Chloe Mattison.
Chloe, a Senior Lawyer at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, gave a real insight into what it was like to work in the civil service as a lawyer and the variety and opportunities involved in her work.
Having studied Law at Oxford University, Chloe completed her training contract at a magic circle law firm in London, qualifying in Commercial Litigation in March 2012. She moved to a firm specialising in media and sports before becoming part of the Government Legal Department.
This was an area that Chloe hadn’t considered previously. She explained to students how much she enjoys what she does, especially that her work makes a difference. Chloe also gave students valuable advice on the different routes to becoming qualified in Law and some of the changes currently being implemented.
Withington has been awarded the title of Northwest Independent School of the Year for Academic Excellence.
Withington is positioned 39th across all schools in the UK, both state and independent, and top in the North West. We are ranked 35th of all independent schools in the UK.
