Community & Partnerships

Welcome to our partnerships and community initiatives.
As a forward-thinking, outward-looking school, our ethos of respect for self, respect for others and personal responsibility underpins our connections beyond the school gates.
WGS School & Educational Partnerships
So, what does that mean in the wider world?

A strong track record of delivering sustained, mutually beneficial partnerships with state schools and community organisations; these aim to benefit local, national and international communities.

One of our longest running programmes, SHiNE Together, provides Saturday morning classes for boys and girls in Years 5 and 6 in an exciting range of subjects.

We evaluate the impact of our partnerships and produce an annual audit each year.

In addition, several Withington colleagues continue to occupy Governorship positions (including two Chairs) in primary and secondary schools across Greater Manchester.

The benefits and impact of our partnerships is promoted by Schools Together.

Our charity fundraising efforts

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” Mother Teresa

Charities play an important part within our school community and we actively encourage fundraising.

All pupils engage in charity fundraising throughout the year for local, national and international charitable organisations.

Our fundraising events are many and varied and fun: from food donations for local foodbanks to dance competitions, bake sales and non-uniform days…

In the 2024-25 year, we raised over £44,000 for several charities.
