Transport | Withington Girls' School

Transport

Our pupils travel to us from across the North West. That’s why we want to make getting here as simple as possible.

Bus Services

Our extensive, shared* bus network means that transport to and from school is made easy, not only for pupils, but for our hardworking parents too.

The network is broad and spans much of the Greater Manchester area. A City Centre Shuttle is available to those who travel via Manchester’s mainline rail stations.

Bus services are available from the following locations:

There are both early and late services, allowing pupils to make the most of after-school activities. At the start of the school year, new pupils are paired with older pupils who accompany them on their journey.

Please contact us for full detail of the bus network and timetables. Bookings are made directly with bus companies.

*WGS pupils share bus travel with pupils from The Manchester Grammar School and Manchester High School for Girls.

Public Transport

Many of our pupils travel to us on public transport, as we’re excellently placed for local services.

Bicycle

We have plenty of weather-proof cycle storage for those who travel to school on two wheels.

Car

A number of parents choose to drop their daughters off on their way to work in the morning and use a bus service in the afternoon.

Please take note of parking restrictions that are in place to keep your daughters safe. Please also be respectful of our neighbours.
