The Sixth Form Information Evening offers Year 11 pupils a chance to gain a deeper understanding of Withington’s Sixth Form. There will be a talk from the Headmistress and Director of Sixth Form and the opportunity to meet teachers and speak to current students, as well as explore our excellent facilities and learn about our fantastic extra-curricular and careers provision.
Come along on Thursday 12th October at 5-7pm.
Why Withington?
Withington’s Sixth Form is an exciting and transformative period in both your academic and personal life. It provides a unique opportunity for you to delve deeper into subjects you are passionate about and explore new areas of interest.
It is a space where you can challenge yourself, grow as an individual, and cultivate the skills for future success in whatever you choose to do.
Our Sixth Form is a very different experience from Senior School. It is a time that is all about you: your interests, your passions and your future. Sixth Form and A Levels are a big change, but the Sixth Form team are here to support you during this transition and help you to prepare for life beyond.
You will benefit from a strong support network, and a sense of belonging within a close-knit community, strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones.
Joining Our Community
Places in Withington’s Sixth Form are limited. Prospective students who know their A Level subject choices should complete a Statement of Interest by Thursday 30th November 2023 (the form is available from admissions@wgs.org).
We recommend this route for students who know their A Level subject choices and whose predicted grades meet our entry requirements (a minimum of six 7-9 grades at GCSE, with 8-9 grades in the subjects you wish to study).
After reviewing the Statements of Interest, before the end of the Autumn term, we will invite a number of candidates to submit a formal application. Once an application is received, references from current schools will be taken and an appointment made to take part in an interview. Interviews may take place in person or online.
Applicants are notified of the outcome of the Sixth Form admissions process by the end of March.
