Whole School Open Days
Thank you to everyone who joined our virtual Open Events in 2020. We very much hope that our next Open Events in Autumn 2021 will be more in our traditional style of welcoming visitors into our school buildings.

We will keep those who register their interest in entry in 2022 updated on arrangements for opportunities to visit the School, virtual events and for the Entrance Examination/Assessments.

We would always advise prospective applicants and their parents to visit Withington Girls’ School before applying for a place at the School, although we have had to manage visits in a different way in recent times.
As we look ahead to the start of the next academic year, prospective parents and pupils are warmly invited to contact our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on email@example.com or 0161 249 3371 if they wish to be contacted about opportunities to visit the School and learn more about a Withington education.
The main entry points to Withington are Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 12 and there may be availability of spaces in other year groups. Please see our Admissions timetable page to find out about application deadlines for main entry points and other useful dates, and contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 0161 249 3371 to enquire about availability in other year groups.
North West Independent School of the Decade
We were delighted to hear in November 2020 – a year after being named the top independent school in the North West, that Sunday Times Parent Power named Withington as North West Independent Secondary School of the Decade based on consistent academic excellence over the last 10 years.
Withington’s Sunday Times National rank in 2019 – the last time public examinations were not disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
2019 A-Level and GSCE results also reflected particular success among our pupils in achieving the very top grades; 32% of A-level subject grades were passed at A*, while 56% of GCSE results were achieved at Grade 9 or A* Distinction in Further Maths. The vast majority of 2019 leavers achieved or exceeded their offers to study the subject of their choice at the university of their choice.
Withington Girls’ School’s most recent inspection was a Regulatory Compliance Inspection carried out by ISI in September 2017.
The School was judged to be fully compliant with all of the Regulatory Standards. GCSE and A-level results are described as ‘well above’ and ‘far above the national average for maintained schools’ respectively.
If you would like to discuss admissions and opportunities to learn more about a Withington education, please contact our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on email@example.com or 0161 249 3371.
