While we would always advise prospective applicants and their parents to visit Withington Girls’ School before applying for a place at the School, we are currently not able to open the doors of our School to visits as we would normally.
Prospective parents and pupils are warmly invited to contact our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0161 249 3371 if they wish to be contacted about opportunities to learn more about a Withington education.
The main entry points to Withington are Year 3, Year 4, Year 7 and Year 12 with some availability of spaces in other year groups. Please see our Admissions timetable page to find out about application deadlines and other useful dates.
We were delighted that our 2019 A-Level and GCSE results confirmed WGS as the best performing independent school in the North of England in the Sunday Times Parent Power tables.
2019 A-Level and GSCE results also reflected particular success among our pupils in achieving the very top grades; 32% of A-level subject grades were passed at A*, while 56% of GCSE results were achieved at Grade 9 or A* Distinction in Further Maths. The vast majority of 2019 leavers achieved or exceeded their offers to study the subject of their choice at the university of their choice.
Withington Girls’ School’s most recent inspection was a Regulatory Compliance Inspection carried out by ISI in September 2017.
The School was judged to be fully compliant with all of the Regulatory Standards. GCSE and A-level results are described as ‘well above’ and ‘far above the national average for maintained schools’ respectively.
If you would like to discuss admissions and opportunities to learn more about a Withington education, please contact our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on email@example.com or 0161 249 3371.
