Open Days and Visits

There are few things more important than choosing the right school for your child. The special atmosphere at Withington Girls’ School encourages and extends each girl not just academically but in every area of her life. We invite you to come and visit us and see for yourself all that Withington has to offer.

Whole School Open Days

Our Whole School Open Events provide the opportunity to see Junior, Senior and Sixth Form facilities. There are many exciting activities in each subject area as well as the chance to chat with the Headmistress and teaching staff. Prospective parents and pupils will be guided around the School by one of our pupils.

Visit us

Prospective parents and pupils are warmly invited to request a visit during the school day or just after School has finished. Please contact our Admissions Officer, Ms Jane Ellis, on or 0161 249 3371 to make arrangements.

Further Information

The main entry points to Withington are Year 3, Year 7 and Year 12 with some availability of spaces in other Years.

We were delighted that our 2018 A-Level and GCSE results confirmed WGS as the best performing independent school the North of England in the Sunday Times Parent Power tables. Our A-Level results reflected a record number of A*s for Withington girls and the vast majority achieved or exceeded their offers to study the subject of their choice at the university of their choice.

Withington Girls’ School’s most recent inspection was a Regulatory Compliance Inspection carried out by ISI in September 2017.

The School was judged to be fully compliant with all of the Regulatory Standards. GCSE and A-level results are described as ‘well above’ and ‘far above the national average for maintained schools’ respectively.

If you would like to arrange an individual visit, please contact our Admissions Director, Mrs Catherine Dow, on or 0161 249 3371.
