School Health Lead

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified and experienced School Health Lead to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls.

The role of the School Health Lead is to manage and lead the provision for the health, safety and well-being of the pupils at Withington Girls’ School, enabling all pupils to continue in school with support for individual physical and mental health care if required.

The School Health Lead will lead in the risk assessment and coordination of individual support plans and will work collaboratively with the School Pastoral Team, ensuring the care of both pupils and staff.  The School Health Lead will be part of the Safeguarding team and will act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. We will consider candidates with a background / training in Education, Safeguarding, Social Care and Health.

Salary: The advertised hours for this position are 37.5 hour per week, over 5 days plus 2 weeks in the school holidays (to include the week before the Autumn Term starts). Working pattern as follows: Monday 8:00 – 16:00, Tuesday 08:00 – 16:30. Wednesday 08:30 – 16:30, Thursday 08:30 – 16:30 and Friday 08:00 – 15:30. The successful applicant will be required to work in school all 5 days a week.

The full-time equivalent salary for this role is £35,000 – £40,000. The actual salary based on working term time only plus 2 weeks in the holidays is £29,330 – £33,520 per annum. The school typically breaks up for the Summer holidays the first week of July and returns in September, with a two week October half term.

Food and Nutrition Technician

Required for September 2025

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified and experienced Food and Nutrition Technician to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls.

The Food and Nutrition Department consists of two members of staff, including the Head of Department, supported by the Food and Nutrition Technician. All students at Key Stage 3 are taught Food and Nutrition for one double lesson (70 minutes) in half class sizes, for half of the academic year. The Food room has recently undergone a full refurbishment. We have superb facilities and resources with a range of specialist equipment to support the delivery of the curriculum. Students study AQA GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition attaining 100% grade 7 to 9.

The role of Food and Nutrition Technician is to provide technical support to the Food and Nutrition Teachers and pupils to ensure the smooth running of the department. Full detail as to the role and responsibilities can be found within the Job Pack.

The role of Food and Nutrition Technician is available from September 2025 and is a minimum of 30 hours per week over 5 days, Monday – Friday, Term Time only plus 2 weeks (to be worked during school holidays as agreed with the Head of Department). Working pattern will be discussed at interview and will be dependent on class timetables, and therefore may vary from each academic year. Hours of a typical working day are 08:30 – 16:30. Additional hours may also be necessary for the proper performance of duties such as open days, open mornings and evening events.

The salary for this role will be paid at point 12 on the Support Staff Pay Scale, this equates to a full-time equivalent salary of £26,061 per annum. The actual salary for this role (based on 30 hours, and working term time only plus 2 weeks) will be £17,480 per annum. The school typically breaks up for the Summer holidays the first week of July and returns in September, with a two week October half term.

Teacher of PE (Maternity Cover)

Withington Girls’ School, The Sunday Times’ North-West Independent School of the Decade 2021, is looking for a well-qualified, experienced Teacher of PE (Maternity Cover) to join this happy and outstandingly successful independent day school for girls. The role of Teacher of PE (Maternity Cover) is available from September 2025 and is offered on a 1-year fixed term contract expected to end August 2026. The role is full time.
