On Friday, 7th February, both WGS 2019-2020 Young Enterprise companies – Lovender Botanics and YouPhoria – took part in the Trafford Centre Young Enterprise Trade Fair where they had the opportunity to sell to the public with nine other companies from schools around Manchester. The event was also an excellent opportunity for the teams to practise answering the kind of challenging questions likely to come up in the next round: the Dragons’ Den held at PricewaterhouseCoopers on 28th February.

The WGS companies did superbly on both days, with each winning awards. At the Trade Fair, the teams were delighted to discover that they had won two out of the three awards available. Lovender Botanics were awarded ‘Best Display Board’ and YouPhoria ‘Best Customer Service’.

At the Dragons’ Den, both companies gave excellent presentations and answered the judges’ questions with flair and confidence. Here, YouPhoria were very pleased to achieve a Highly Commended accolade. Both companies received excellent and encouraging feedback which will help them prepare for the North & South Manchester Finals to be held on March 25th.

They are a pleasure to work with and we wish them the very best for the forthcoming competition!”

Lovender Botanics is selling lavender-based toiletries and candles all beautifully presented in their own designer packaging.

YouPhoria have put together a ‘care package’ which is a box of items to provide positivity and comfort on those ‘off’ days.  The package contains a design-of-choice mug, a hot chocolate stick, a ‘little book of big positivity’, a luxury teabag, fuzzy socks and a scrunchie made from recycled material.
