OGDEN PRIZE FOR GEOGRAPHY
We’re very proud that, for the eighth time in the last 13 years, the Ogden Prize for the highest marks in the region in the A Level Geography examinations has been awarded to a Withington student. Lauren Cain, from the Class of 2019, received her award at a Geographical Association lecture at Manchester Metropolitan University attended by former Head of Geography, Mrs Julie Buckley and current Head of Geography, Mrs Susan Hamilton. Interestingly, it was a hattrick of WGS Geography teachers as the prize was presented to Lauren by Mrs Sheila Bradford, who was Head of Geography at WGS before Mrs Buckley! Many congratulations to Lauren, who is now studying Geography at the University of Manchester, and to the WGS Geography Department.
