Our creative and enthusiastic group of nearly 50 Junior pupils received their Arts Award Discover certificates in a presentation assembly this week.

Last term, they worked extremely hard to produce lots of artworks based on the theme ‘Funky Food’, creating 3D ice cream cones, imaginative drawings and collages. The girls researched contemporary artists who use items of food as their subject matter and at the end of the project they shared their artwork with each other, gathering feedback in portfolios. The Arts Award Explore course will begin straight after the February half-term break and they will be off and running again on the theme ‘Recycled Art’. 

These Junior girls have really enjoyed working together on this creative endeavour and loved the satisfaction of completing a portfolio containing their own research, design and artworks.
