On Tuesday 24th April, Form I enjoyed a ‘trip’ back to Ancient Egyptian times, with a visit from Tony North from Time Trips.

Tony told us all about the theories behind how the pyramids at Giza were built and we then went on to carry out some investigations of our own in order to find the answer to how the pyramids were constructed. These investigations involved using blocks to build our own pyramids, using plumb lines and set squares to look for straight edges and right angles around the classroom and building straight and spiral ramps using scale models of the pyramids.

In the afternoon, we got crafty and worked in teams to build a scale model of the pyramids at Giza. We all discovered so much about the pyramids and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all the girls!
