Musical Showcase

What a fantastic evening of music entertainment we had last night! The Summer Musical Showcase provided an evening of entertainment with performances both classical and contemporary, involving girls from the Junior School to Upper Sixth.

This year, Junior girls made a big contribution to the show with their Mini Voccini Choir and playing alongside the Seniors in ensembles.

As has become traditional for the close of the first half, the Arts Centre audience was ‘rocking’ to a set of upbeat and moody pieces from the School’s jazz group, Stage Band.

All ensembles, bands, choirs and orchestras contributed to an uplifting evening of beautiful music and Sixth Former Bronya gave a superb solo performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto, 1st Movement.

It was a concert that will live in the memory and, as always, a poignant one as Upper Sixth girls perform at their last whole school concert as their final exams approach. The whole show finished with the full orchestra giving a rousing rendition of Pirates of the Caribbean, finishing the concert to thunderous applause!
