U15 Independent Schools Netball Cup Champions!

Huge congratulations to our U15 netball team who WON the Independent Schools Netball Cup today! Very well done to the team and to our fantastic netball coaches!

After progressing through the rounds of a competition involving 70 schools nationwide, it came down to an all-Manchester final vs St Bede’s held at Redbridge Sports Centre in Essex. In a hard-fought final Withington won 37-26.  Trophies were presented by England Netball International, Sasha Corbin and Malawian International, Mary Waya.

Luisa won the Most Valuable Player Award

This is the third year that Withington has progressed to the finals with the U13s winning in 2016 and taking the runner-up place in 2017. It is also great news for netball in the north of England as Stockport Grammar School won the U13 trophy and the Grammar School at Leeds won the U19 trophy.

The School is very grateful to the John Turner Construction Group who sponsored the kit for the U15 Netball Team.  John Turner’s are the main contractor for the £2m Sports Project at the school providing fabulous new sporting facilities for our pupils including a new Fitness Studio, a Mind & Body Studio and additional changing facilities.
