A wonderful Withington Christmas!

Withington musicians were out in force for the Senior School Concert which took place in the Arts Centre on 12th December. Featuring choirs, orchestras, ensembles and bands performing a total of 23 pieces between them, it was an upbeat event with a fun addition to the programme being the whole of Lower Fourth who donned hairbands adorned with crackers to perform their version of I’m a Little Christmas Cracker.

Audience participation is always heartily encouraged and this year’s performance of the Twelve Days of Christmas demonstrated that whilst it has been an action-packed term, our Withington community was still full of energy. The finale was an apt farewell with the whole audience, Senior Orchestra and Senior Choir performing with great gusto, Merry Christmas Everyone.

Director Our music Mrs Gillian Sargent said: “Our programme has been rich and varied but has also been light-hearted and fun. We have many accomplished musicians and are very proud of all of them. Christmas shows Withington at its best and after attending our seasonal events everyone breaks up for the holidays filled with festive spirit.”
