Most Unladylike?

On 29th November, Robin Stevens, author of the Murder Most Unladylike series, came to visit us at WGS. Years 5 to 7 had the honour of meeting her and had the chance to get a signed copy of one of her books.

She started the talk by telling us a little bit about herself and her childhood and how her time as a child living at Pembroke College in Oxford had influenced her murder mystery books, such as the fact that she came from America and felt out of place at her school in England, a lot like the character Hazel Wong from her stories. She also told us how she was inspired to write about child detectives rather than adult detectives.

Finally, she finished off by helping us create our own murder mystery stories which we will hopefully continue in our English lessons. We all enjoyed the talk and felt very inspired by her words. Thank you to Junior School teacher, Miss Dillon, for organising
the visit.
