A Host of Geographers!

There were 40 Geographers in the Geography Room for a Skills workshop on 17th January. Over 20 trainee Geography teachers from Manchester Metropolitan University led work stations on Statistics, Graphs, Cartography and ICT in geographical study. Several also gave presentations on the value of GIS to aid presentation and understanding of geographical patterns. The Geography Room was a buzz and our Sixth Form enjoyed the opportunity to talk to so many enthusiastic Geographers whilst also being able to get one to one advice about skills and processes involved in geographical fieldwork.

We were very privileged that these PGCE students could come and support our skills revision in this way. It was worthwhile for both our girls and the students and a lot was learnt at our twilight session!
