Cinderella and Rockerfella – Junior Christmas Show
On Monday 12th December, the Withington Juniors performed their annual Christmas production. This year, all six forms took part in the fabulous pantomime Cinderella & Rockerfella. It included all essential pantomime ingredients with its Ugly Sister dames, rags-to-riches heroine, dashing prince and dust-sparkling fairy godmother. The story followed unfulfilled celebrity superstar, Rockerfella, in his quest to find the girl who fits the glass slipper and in turn, his true love.

A highlight of the evening was the Juniors’ ‘Mannequin Challenge’ video depicting the preparations for the show. Made by the School’s Performing Arts Technicians, it earned a massive round of applause from the audience!
The production was directed by Miss Holly Dillon with musical accompaniment by Miss Amy Holland. The other Junior teachers choreographed dances, created props and encouraged loud and joyful singing. It could not have been done without the girls of course! They all worked extremely hard and should be very proud of the show they put on.
The upbeat music was very catchy; the audience could be heard humming the tunes as they left! The smiles on the faces of the girls and (of course) the mince pies and mulled wine at the interval made for an enjoyable evening. The big question is, as always, how will they top it next year?
