Ghyll Head 2016

The new Third Form got to know one another, their Form teachers and Sixth Form peer supporters over two weekends at Ghyll Head in the Lake District.

The three-day expeditions saw the excited pupils board coaches outside the School then make their way to Ghyll Head Outdoor Centre, located right on Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District. All enjoyed the glorious blue skies and sunshine in the picturesque setting.

After checking in and dropping their bags off pupils explored the beautiful gardens, woods and streams and quickly got into their fun-filled programme of activities as they orienteered their way around the site. After a delicious and filling dinner each group took part in the nightline, navigating their way round the woods with only a rope to guide them; needless to say, this wasn’t for the faint hearted!

During Saturday and Sunday every group took part in canoeing, Ghyll scrambling, high ropes and zip-wire course. The new Third Form embraced every opportunity given to them, including throwing themselves into the cool waters and off the extremely high zip line!

The weekends enabled girls to spend time together as a year group, getting to know each other, their Form Tutors and Sixth Form Peer Supporters while pushing their mental and physical endurance and courage to the limits.
