Junior School Harvest Festival
On Friday 7th October, Junior School pupils celebrated their Harvest Festival. The girls brought in an incredible amount of food to donate to those in need around the Manchester area and in return they were treated to some delicious Harvest bread from Withington’s talented catering staff.
Lower II researched harvests around the world and in groups of no more than six, presented their research to the rest of the Juniors in the morning Assembly. They shared information about different Korean festivals, Thai fruit, American Thanksgiving dinner and the French grape harvest, to name just a few.
Colin White from the Salvation Army then arrived to collect the donations from the girls. He was overwhelmed by the generosity of our pupils and parents and actually commented on how difficult it would be to find any more space in his van for other schools’ donations! A great morning was had by all.
