Junior Summer Sports

AJIS Athletics Championships
On Thursday 16th June, Withington Juniors travelled to Stanley Park in Blackpool for the annual AJIS Athletics Championships. Competition is always very tough with 23 schools from throughout the North West taking part. By the end of five hours of fierce competition the girls had worked their socks off. Despite missing out on the medal positions all girls competed extremely well, with Eve Beckford finishing 4th in the 80m Finals. These were fantastic performances and everyone should be very proud of their achievements – it was a great experience and the taking part with absolute commitment was the important thing. Thank you to all the parents who braved the wet weather to offer their support.
