Juniors in the Dragons’ Den

Yesterday, the finalists of this year’s Junior Dragons’ Den competition presented their pitches to a formidable trio of dragons and the rest of the Junior School.

In preparation for the final, every girl in the School was asked to design a unique invention to present to their class and Form teacher. Form teachers were bowled over by the ingenuity and maturity of all the girls’ pitches but, however, had to make the difficult decision of choosing only two or three girls from each Form to continue on to the final.

The sixteen finalists performed their pitches with incredible poise, professionalism and enthusiasm.

After each presentation, the finalists were asked some challenging questions by the dragons which they all answered intelligently and creatively. Each girl was able to secure an investment from the dragons and walked away with a bundle of ‘cash’ (tissues) along with a bag of chocolate coins and a certificate to acknowledge their achievements.

The dragons, namely Mrs Burrows, Mrs Ositelu and Mrs Senn, commented on how impressed they were with the girls’ inventions as well as the quality of their presentations and prototypes. Mrs Burrows particularly enjoyed trying out Olivia C’s ‘Comfy Clean Slippers’ on the Junior School floor!
