Ogden Prizewinner for Outstanding Geography Achievement

Head of Geography Mrs Buckley was delighted yesterday to receive a letter stating that 2014/15 Head Girl, Chess Gray has been successful in securing the Ogden Prize from the Local Geographical Association for the most outstanding performance in her A Level Geography Papers. She achieved the highest score in the Manchester area securing 399 out of 400 UMS over all her papers.

Chess will receive a certificate and gift vouchers. These are to be presented at the next Geographical Association lecture and Mrs Buckley will be there with current Upper and Lower Sixth Geographers to receive the prize on Chess’s behalf. Chess is now at Edinburgh University completing a Geography Degree.

Mrs Buckley commented: “Six Withington girls have achieved this prestigious award over the last eleven years, which demonstrates real rigour and outstanding Geographical knowledge and understanding. We are extremely proud of Chess and it was very well deserved.”
