Bath Afternoon Tea Reunion

Yesterday the Development Team journeyed down to Bath to host an Alumnae Reunion for Old Girls located in the West Country. We welcomed 11 guests in total to Browns Restaurant, who ranged in age from the Class of 1944 to the Class of 1985.

Over a delicious Afternoon Tea, our Old Girls reminisced on their School years and shared memories and highlights from their time at Withington. Anna Yates (Class of 1944) shared fascinating memories of WGS during the war, whilst many others remarked on how teachers such as Miss Morris and Miss Hulme had continued to inspire them long after they’d left Withington. A few reunited with old classmates who they had lost touch with over the years and swapped contact details in the hope of meeting up more regularly.

Development Director Mrs Toni Leden addressed the guests, sharing updates and news of exciting events from the School’s 125th year, as well as photos of the new buildings and facilities. Items from the School Archive were passed around, and one attendee even brought along photos and written accounts from her time at school (1942-1951), which she has generously donated to the Withington Archive.

It was a wonderful day, made even better by the lovely Bath location and bright blue skies. It is always good to get a sense of how far our Old Girls have dispersed across the country (and the world) since their time at Withington, and the Development Team hopes to continue arranging reunions up and down the UK for Alumnae who still wish to feel connected with the School.
