Guide Dog Visit
On 22nd June, three Junior School classes were privileged to meet the beautiful Waffle, a working Guide Dog, her deaf and blind owner, Jean, and Guide Dogs for the Blind volunteer, Roy.
In an informative afternoon, Roy taught the girls about how Guide Dogs, such as Waffle, are bred and trained and Jean gave a poignant insight into how she is able to live a full and independent life with Waffle’s assistance. Waffle was a perfect guest and was more than happy to meet each and every girl, who wanted to, for a proper hug.
In recognition of the wonderful work of Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Junior School donated the proceeds of the collection (£110) from the Strawberry Serenade and hope to do more fundraising in the near future.
