STEM DAY
The Lower Fifth STEM Day held at the end of the Easter Term provided an enjoyable day of practical and scientific challenges. Girls were asked to design a wind turbine to to see who could generate the highest voltage, but also taking into account stability and costs.
As usual the girls rose to the challenge and were incredibly focused. The designs were creative and original and introduced the girls to a real-life engineering problem which involved team work and communication. Many girls commented how much they had enjoyed the day and how much it changed their ideas on what the work of an engineer entails.
