Ghyll Head 2014

As is traditional at Withington, all girls in the new Third Form have spent a weekend away at Ghyll Head Outdoor Education Centre in the Lake District. Over two weekends in September and October the newest Withington girls got to know one another, their Form Teachers and Sixth Form Peer Supporters in this informal setting, and all taking on outdoor challenges together. Both weekends were action-packed, with gorge scrambling, flying on the zip-wire and canoeing in Lake Windermere including the opportunity to jump into the lake fully clothed!

Head of Third Form, Mrs Menzies said: “ The girls were excellent company and faced all challenges enthusiastically. It was lovely to see the girls working so well together and encouraging one another as they faced the many challenges of the weekend. There was much laughter as the Peer Supporters taught the girls how to sing Gaudeamus on the nightline!”
