Sixth Form Chemistry: Young Analysts

Young Analysts

On 25th April, three Lower Sixth pupils travelled to Manchester Metropolitan University to participate in the Young Analyst Chemistry Competition. They spent time performing chemical analyses in the university laboratories finally finishing first in true Withington style! After lunch they attended two lectures – one on ‘lab-in-a-chip' technology and the other on fluorescence. They learnt how these ideas were being developed and how they would be used in the future. The three all agreed that it was a very rewarding day which giving them valuable experience of analytical chemistry.
