Birds of Prey visit the Juniors

 Birds of Prey visit

We would like to say a big thank you to Mike and the seven
amazing birds of prey from the Welsh Birds of Prey Centre. We learnt lots of
interesting facts; did you know that an owl can turn its head through 280° and
an eagle owl can see a newspaper heading from a mile away? We were told that
owls aren't as wise as we thought; the saying "as wise as an owl" actually
comes from the Roman Goddess of Wisdom, Athena, who kept an owl.

Birds of Prey visit

Whilst we had our talk, the Junior Resource Room was like a scene from Harry Potter as the birds stayed on their perches
and watched us with penetrating and mesmerising stares. Two lucky girls from
each class were allowed to hold the eagle owl.

It was a great visit!
