Helping those who help our wounded servicemen

Following on from the successful fundraising activities for Help for Heroes by Lower II girls last term, we were visited by two army personnel from 207 Field Hospital based in Manchester.

Help for Heroes

In Assembly on Wednesday 18th April, the men spoke about the roles of doctors and nurses in overseas military operations. They then answered – exceptionally well – very topical and quite searching questions from the girls.

They were delighted to receive our cheques representing money raised last term and they presented us with a ‘207’ plaque and a commemorative certificate in return, both of which will have pride of place in the Junior Corridor.

We are hoping that the occasion will mark the beginning of an established link with the Unit and we look forward to welcoming them back to School in the future.

Already plans are afoot for Withington Juniors to take part in a fundraising cycle ride in aid of Help for Heroes.
